Dr Margaret Sherburn, FACP

Specialist Womens Health Physiotherapist (2009), Fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapists,

Dr Margaret Sherburn is an APA Continence and Women’s Health Specialist Physiotherapist (as awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapists in 2010).

An experienced clinician, Marg has worked in the public and private health sectors in this field for over 35 years. Margaret was the head of the Physiotherapy Department at the Royal Women’s Hospital for many years and an academic physiotherapist at the University of Melbourne,  completing her PhD in 2007. Marg currently works in private practice. 

Her main areas of research are the conservative management of pelvic floor dysfunction in women with prolapse or incontinence, and the role of exercise for pre and postnatal women

She is passionate about the role of exercise for pregnant and new mums, and for older women. Her fields of expertise are bladder and bowel health, pregnancy exercise, and the management of pelvic girdle pain.
